AceShowbiz - The iconic pop group The Pussycat Dolls has officially reunited, though in a new, streamlined formation. The act, best known for global hits like "Buttons," "When I Grow Up," and "Don't Cha," has confirmed their return with the release of a new single and a major global tour spanning the United States and Europe.
The reunion features three of the original six members: Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts. The trio dropped their new single, "Club Song," marking their first musical release since 2020's "React."
This announcement follows a long and winding path back to the stage. The Pussycat Dolls had initially announced a reunion in 2019 with plans for a 2020 tour. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused significant delays, and Nicole Scherzinger ultimately confirmed the tour's cancellation in January 2022.
Now, the stars have finally aligned. Kimberly Wyatt expressed her excitement, stating that reuniting was "an incredible thing to be able to do after 20 years." Nicole Scherzinger echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the perfect timing. "After 20 years, you're like, 'Where is everybody?' But for us, it aligned," she said. "People are in different places in their lives, some of the other people have different commitments and priorities, but this worked out for us."
Ashley Roberts revealed that it was Nicole Scherzinger who initiated the conversation about regrouping, setting this new endeavor in motion.
The musical return is just one part of the group's reactivation. The Pussycat Dolls are also reissuing their two major albums, PCD and Doll Domination, on May 8.
The core of the comeback is the extensive PCD Forever tour, a 53-date trek that promises to bring their high-energy show to audiences worldwide. The tour is scheduled to kick off in California at the beginning of June. For the North American leg of the tour, the trio will be joined by special guests Lil' Kim and Mya.
Following the North American dates, The Pussycat Dolls will take the tour to Europe, beginning in Copenhagen. The European itinerary includes a notable string of eight shows across the United Kingdom.
