AceShowbiz - The rock band The Pretty Reckless has officially announced their fifth studio album, Dear God, which is set to be released on June 26 through Fearless Records. Alongside the album announcement, the band unveiled the lead single, "When I Wake Up," on March 14.

Dear God is described by the band as one of their most raw and uncompromising projects to date. The album consists of 14 tracks that revolve around deeply personal songwriting, vulnerability, and creative freedom. Among the songs featured is "For I Am Death," the band’s chart-topping single from the previous year.

In support of the new album, The Pretty Reckless will embark on a headlining world tour. The tour will begin with dates in North America, including stops in New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles, before continuing through Europe.

Frontwoman Taylor Momsen described the new single "When I Wake Up" as a cautionary tale. "It's the story of a dream becoming a nightmare," she said. "When a life of excess leads you on a rollercoaster that is doomed to crash but you just can't see it. It's a good time..." Musically, the track features a punk-driven energy while maintaining the band’s signature explosive guitar riffs and Momsen’s powerful vocals.

This album announcement comes after a busy period for The Pretty Reckless. The band performed at the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring Mariah Carey and appeared at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. At the Hall of Fame event, Momsen joined Soundgarden on stage to perform during their induction. Additionally, the band recently completed a two-year stint as direct support for AC/DC on their PWR UP Tour.

Their single "For I Am Death" achieved significant success by reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart dated November 8. This marked the band's eighth No. 1 hit and their fourth consecutive chart-topper since 2020. Their streak began with "Death by Rock and Roll," which led the chart for three weeks, followed by "And So It Went" and "Only Love Can Save Me Now" in 2021.

With eight No. 1 singles, The Pretty Reckless holds the record for the most chart-topping songs by a woman-fronted act in the 44-year history of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, surpassing the previous record held by Halestorm.
