AceShowbiz - Tomb Raider King is set to premiere as a fresh anime adventure, arriving just as the future of Solo Leveling remains uncertain. This new series is adapted from the popular Webtoon of the same name and shares some stylistic similarities with the acclaimed 2025 Anime of the Year, Solo Leveling, though its storyline takes a different path.
Tomb Raider King follows Seo Joo-Heon, a tomb raider who is mysteriously sent back 15 years in time. Armed with memories of the future, he aims to outpace other tomb raiders by stealing all the tombs first. Despite its name, the anime is unrelated to the famous Lara Croft franchise.
The lead character Seo Joo-Heon is voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, known for roles such as Kaigaku in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Reiner in Attack on Titan, and appearances in Mob Psycho 100 and Fruits Basket -prelude-. Alongside him, Saori Hayami lends her voice talents, recognized for portraying Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer, Osaragi in Sakamoto Days, and Yor Forger in Spy x Family.
The anime is produced by STUDIO EEK and directed by Seung Wook Woo, who previously contributed to the highly regarded Hunter x Hunter series. A trailer released on YouTube offers glimpses of intense combat between humans and monsters, time-travel elements, and a game-like notification system reminiscent of Solo Leveling.
Meanwhile, the future of Solo Leveling remains in limbo. The anime adaptation, which aired for two seasons, has not announced a third season. Despite this, the franchise is expanding with new projects.
One of the biggest upcoming developments is a live-action adaptation scheduled to debut on Netflix. The series will star Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jinwoo and Han So-hee from Gyeongseong Creature as Cha Hae In. Production is expected to begin around April 2026, although no official release date has been confirmed.
Additionally, reports suggest a Solo Leveling movie may be released in 2026, following the success of theatrical adaptations like Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man. However, official announcements about this film remain pending.
As fans await more news, Tomb Raider King offers an exciting new anime experience blending time travel, thrilling battles, and a mysterious quest, making it a promising addition to the adventure genre in 2026.
