AceShowbiz - Al Jardine and his talented band have been thrilling audiences across the U.S. by performing selections from the unique 1977 album The Beach Boys Love You. While fans have enjoyed these shows immensely, many have eagerly anticipated the chance to hear the album performed in its entirety, including the previously missing tracks “Mona,” “Let’s Put Our Hearts Together,” and “Love Is a Woman.”
This dream will become a reality on February 27 when Al Jardine and the Pet Sounds Band take the stage at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles for a special performance. This concert will mark the “world premiere” of The Beach Boys Love You in full. Tickets for the event are currently available.
While Jardine contributed lead vocals on the track “Honkin’ Down the Highway,” he was not heavily involved in the album's creative process. “Carl Wilson was guiding Brian through the process of making the record,” Jardine explained to Rolling Stone during an interview last year. “You’ll hear a lot of Dennis on there. Mike and I came in and basically filled in the harmonies on the backgrounds. That was about it.”
The highly anticipated Los Angeles show is co-produced by Alex Jules, a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles known for his work with the Monkees and other notable artists. Last year, he successfully organized a concert for wildfire relief in Los Angeles, featuring prominent names like “Weird Al” Yankovic and Nancy Sinatra. “After the positive feedback from that event, people from Al’s team approached me about collaborating with him,” Jules shared with Rolling Stone. “We discussed creating a concert to celebrate this new show and decided to present a world premiere of the full Love You album.”
The timing of the event is particularly fitting, coinciding with the release of the box set We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years, which offers an in-depth look at the era surrounding The Beach Boys Love You. Jardine’s performance will not only highlight the album’s full scope but also pay tribute to its legacy nearly 49 years after its initial release.
Fans attending the concert can expect a unique experience, celebrating the music and the rich history of The Beach Boys. This special event promises to be an unforgettable night filled with nostalgia and appreciation for one of the band's most distinct works. Don’t miss the chance to witness Al Jardine and his band bring this beloved album to life in a way that has never been done before.
