AceShowbiz - LaRussell, Lalah Hathaway, and Pastor Mike Jr. will headline the 27th annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration, set to air on BET on Saturday, February 7, at 8 p.m. ET. This exciting one-hour primetime special will showcase an array of talent, including the Bay Area indie rapper LaRussell and Christian hip-hop artist Miles Minnick.
This year’s theme, “Go Higher,” reflects the celebratory spirit of the event. The special will be hosted by NFL MVP and broadcaster Cam Newton. The lineup of performers also includes American Idol winner Jamal Roberts, the NFL Players Choir, and the celebrated HBCU ensemble, the South Carolina State University Marching 101. The segments featured in this year’s event were filmed during the Super Bowl week festivities in Los Angeles and San Francisco, promising a vibrant and uplifting experience.
One of the highlights of the celebration will be a unique collaboration between LaRussell and Miles Minnick. In addition to his role in the BET special, LaRussell has also been announced as the opener for the Super Bowl LX Tailgate Concert on Sunday, February 8, showcasing his rising star power in the music industry.
Melanie Few, the founder of the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration and its executive producer, shared her enthusiasm for this year's refreshed format, stating, “This year’s refreshed format allows us to slow down and be more intentional. By creating space for deeper storytelling, intimate performances, and meaningful moments of reflection, we’re able to honor powerful voices and impactful leaders on and off the field.”
Working alongside Few as music director and producer is Grammy winner Adam Blackstone, who commented on the new format: “It allows the music, the stories, and the emotion to breathe, creating a powerful experience that celebrates community, purpose, and excellence.”
Last year's event featured a star-studded lineup that included The Isley Brothers, Yolanda Adams, Tori Kelly, and Master P, among others, setting a high bar for this year’s celebration.
This year's Super Bowl Soulful Celebration will also honor individuals whose leadership aligns with the mission of bridging faith, football, and culture through music and tribute. Honorees include Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss, who will receive the Lifetime of Inspiration Award, and Jameis Winston of the New York Giants, who will receive the Faith in Action Award. This event continues to emphasize its commitment to celebrating both the cultural and spiritual significance of the Super Bowl.
