While an exact release date for Yellowjackets season 4 remains under wraps, the cast is preparing to start filming their concluding episodes soon. In a recent conversation with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley about her latest horror film, Whistle, actress Sophie Nélisse, who plays teenage Shauna Shipman, disclosed that filming will kick off in mid-February.

Liam Crowley: "Sophie, we’re excited about the upcoming season of Yellowjackets. Production was initially expected to begin in January."

Sophie Nélisse: "Yes, we actually start in two weeks! I’m thrilled and have already secured a place in Vancouver for the production."

The filming schedule for season 4 has shifted to mid-February, a departure from previous seasons that began production in January. This change aligns with the series' narrative, which left off in a cold, wintry setting. Historically, season 1 commenced filming in May 2021, season 2 in August 2022, and season 3 in May 2024. Each of these seasons typically took about five to six months to complete filming for both the 1990s and 2020s timelines.

As for the release timeline for season 4, if the past is any indication, fans might expect it to premiere several months after filming wraps up. For context, season 2 debuted in March 2023, approximately seven months after production began, while season 3 was released in February 2025, nine months post-production start. With this new timeline, audiences can speculate about when they might finally return to the wild, rugged landscapes of Yellowjackets.
