Star Trek's Borg get a major weakness in new comic book series.

AceShowbiz - The Star Trek franchise has officially made its worst change to the Borg a part of its canon. The Borg, one of the most powerful alien races in the Star Trek universe, have a weakness that has been reaffirmed in Star Trek: Voyager: Homecoming #3. This comic book series, written by Susan Bridges and Tilly Bridges and drawn by Angel Hernandez, reveals that the Borg are unable to rest and restore themselves in Fluidic Space, nor can they assimilate someone.
The Borg were introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation's second season as a replacement for the disappointing Feregni, and they quickly became one of the franchise's most popular bad guys. They struck fear into the hearts of even the Klingons and the Romulans with their ability to assimilate civilizations into their Collective and rob them of their humanity. However, as seen in Star Trek: Voyager's season three finale, "Scorpion Part One," the Borg finally met their match in Species 8472.
Species 8472 were unlike any other Star Trek race before them. They were a mysterious and powerful species that the Borg attempted to assimilate, but failed. This failure led to a war between the Borg and Species 8472, which spilled over into our universe. The Borg were only able to defeat Species 8472 with the assistance of Voyager. Now, in Star Trek: Voyager: Homecoming, Species 8472 has returned, seeking to destroy all life in the galaxy.
The Borg's inability to assimilate Species 8472 makes them the ultimate threat to the Borg. Even Species 8472's home dimension is dangerous to the Borg, as they are unable to rest and restore themselves in Fluidic Space. This weakness has been reaffirmed in Star Trek: Voyager: Homecoming #3, solidifying it as a part of Star Trek canon. The Borg may be one of the most powerful alien races in the Star Trek universe, but they are not invincible, and Species 8472 remains a significant threat to their existence.
