Jiggly Caliente, born Bianca Castro in the Philippines, became a household name during season four of "RuPaul's Drag Race" in 2011 and continued to captivate audiences with her infectious energy and fierce wit.
Her family shared the heartbreaking news on social media, saying, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente."
In their statement, the family added, "Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends."
They went on to describe Caliente as "a luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy," who touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world.
Her family previously announced on April 24 that Jiggly had a severe infection that required the amputation of most of her right leg. "She will not be appearing on the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines, nor will she be participating in any public engagements for the foreseeable future," they said.
Following her surgery, Caliente took a break from public appearances to focus on her recovery. Her family requested privacy during this challenging time but invited friends, fans, and the broader community to send messages of hope and love through her social media channels.
As news of her passing became public, many paid tribute to her online. Fellow "Drag Race" contestants and fans alike expressed their grief and love for Jiggly. Jiggly came out as a transgender woman in 2016. In a heartfelt reflection on her 43rd birthday, Jiggly shared, "My kind usually don't make it past 35. I've honestly lived a rollercoaster of a life. Good, the bad, everything has made me the woman I am today."
