AceShowbiz - Jennifer Aniston, a name synonymous with Hollywood glamour and poise, recently revealed a very relatable fear: the fear of flying. In a candid interview with Travel + Leisure, the 56-year-old actress discussed the profound anxiety she experiences whenever she boards a plane.
"I have an extreme fear of flying," Aniston confessed. This anxiety once drove her to adopt superstitions. Before boarding, she would touch the plane with her right hand and step on with her right foot first. However, these rituals provided only temporary comfort.
"But I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions. I have not been doing the right hand, right foot - and now it's shockingly good," she shared.
Eradicating these superstitions through hypnosis has been a game-changer for Aniston. Another tool in her arsenal is meditation. She emphasized how "plugging into a good meditation" helps her cope during flights. Moreover, she ensures that she stretches or moves around, making the journey more bearable.
Aniston also discussed the pragmatic side of travel: packing. Known among her friends as an over-packer, she is now making efforts to pack more efficiently. "I've been trying really hard to pack light because I'm known for packing too much," she admitted. The actress pointed out a silver lining to her tendency to pack excessively: her friends often borrow things they've forgotten.
Beyond the logistical aspects of flying, Aniston highlighted the transformative power of travel. "All of this is so important and expands our awareness beyond what we are confined to," she mused, emphasizing how traveling can broaden one's perspective.
