This unprecedented flight, which launched from West Texas, also featured former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn, creating an inspiring tableau of women power.

As the New Shepard rocket soared above Earth, Perry serenaded her crewmates with a rendition of "What a Wonderful World," a moment CBS News' Gayle King called, "the best part" of their brief sojourn into the cosmos.
