AceShowbiz - Bella Thorne has taken to social media to detail harrowing experiences she faced while working with Mickey Rourke on the set of their 2020 film, "Girl." The revelation comes on the heels of Rourke's controversial behaviours including making homophobic comments about fellow Housemate JoJo Siwa on "Celebrity Big Brother".
Thorne didn't hold back as she described the discomfort and distress she experienced on set. "This f***ing dude. GROSS," she posted on her Instagram Stories, recounting a particular scene where Rourke's actions left her with bruises on her pelvic bone.
"He's supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap and instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans. Hitting them over and over again," she wrote. Thorne labeled the experience as one of the worst in her acting career.
Thorne also shared additional incidents that underlined Rourke's unprofessional behavior. She explained how Rourke would purposefully cover her in dirt during a scene, seemingly to humiliate her in front of the crew.
"So many gross stories of things he made me go through on that movie," she reiterated in a separate post. She added that she often had to enter Rourke's trailer alone to persuade him to complete scenes, as he refused to communicate with the director or producers.
In response to Thorne's allegations, Rourke's representatives issued a statement recognizing the seriousness of the claims but denying any intentional misconduct.
"These allegations are extremely serious. Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct," the statement reads, expressing that Rourke was unaware of Thorne's discomfort until her recent posts.
The claims against Rourke have surfaced amid his participation in "Celebrity Big Brother," where he recently received a formal warning for making a homophobic remark towards JoJo Siwa. Rourke apologized, stating, "I apologize. I don't have dishonorable intentions. I'm just talking smack, you know. I wasn't taking it all so serious."
He also faced backlash for leering at female host AJ Odudu during his entrance on the reality show.
Thorne concluded her disclosures by praising the hard work of the crew and other actors on "Girl," despite her traumatic experiences. "Everyone worked HARD literal blood, sweat, and tears to make that vision and I'm really proud of everyone and the work that was done on that movie," she added.
Despite the denial issued by Rourke's rep regarding Thorne's allegations, a source claimed that the actor's friends were nervous about his involvement on the "Celebrity Big Brother."
"Some pals worry he will go on CBB and cancel himself and damage his acting career, while others feel it may be the making of him," the insider claimed.
