AceShowbiz - Hollywood veteran Mickey Rourke made a splashy debut on "Celebrity Big Brother" this past Tuesday, but it's his controversial interaction with host AJ Odudu that has tongues wagging.
The 72-year-old actor, best known for his role in "The Wrestler" and "Iron Man 2", joined the U.K. reality show alongside other stars like JoJo Siwa. However, it was his behavior with 37-year-old Odudu during his entrance that left audiences buzzing.
"You're very flirtatious," remarked Odudu, who was dressed in a feathered brown bodysuit, as Rourke grabbed her and pulled her close. Co-host Will Best quickly warned the actor to "be careful."
Despite the admonition, Rourke continued to gaze at Odudu, who appeared uncomfortable. "Stop looking at me!" she eventually said, urging to get into the house. Rourke resisted, "No, I want to stay with you."
The incident didn't go unnoticed on social media. British TV presenter Alan Carr commented on the moment during the "Late & Live" aftershow, "Can we talk about Mickey Rourke looking at you? Wow, his eyes." He jokingly added, "Find someone who looks at you the way Mickey looks at you [AJ]. His tongue was hanging out."
Odudu concurred with Carr's observation, saying, "It literally was. I was like, 'You can't afford these feathers. Mickey, no!' "
Fans on social media were divided on Rourke's behavior. While some found it harmless, others were less than impressed. One viewer took to the platform X to express concern, writing, "Mickey Rourke made AJ very uncomfortable when he was entering the house."
Another added, "I was a fan of Mickey Rourke for his 5 second walk up & then he grabbed the presenter lady 🤢 that crowd turned on him quickkk."
Inside the house, Rourke's temperament quickly became a point of discussion. He warned his new housemates of his short fuse, saying, "I don't take orders very well, but if everyone is nice and respectful we can have a good time." He added, "As long as nobody pushes the envelope, because the envelope has a very short fuse."
Interestingly, Rourke admitted he had little knowledge about the show before joining. "I have no clue about Big Brother," he said candidly. "I thought Big Brother was the government."
With such a dramatic start, it remains to be seen how Rourke's journey on "Celebrity Big Brother" will unfold. One thing is certain - his entrance has already made him the talk of the town.
