AceShowbiz - Teddi Mellencamp, known for her stint on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" (RHOBH), has been publicly battling stage 4 melanoma for three years. Following the diagnosis, she's facing a tough road, both in treatment and in personal relationships.
She recently revealed that her former "RHOBH" co-star Garcelle Beauvais has not reached out since her diagnosis. The strained relationship between Mellencamp and Beauvais is well-known to fans of the show, as the two never formed a close bond during their time on "RHOBH."
At one point, Beauvais even likened Mellencamp to an "annoying little gnat." Mellencamp humorously embraced the comparison, "I can sleep on my super comfortable mattress tonight knowing I'm happy with who I am and being authentically me."
Mellencamp, 43, has been straightforward about her ongoing health crisis, recently revealing she had undergone emergency brain surgery after doctors found multiple tumors in her brain and lungs.
"I'm fighting for my life," she told Us Weekly. "But also for my family's life and all the people I love." She added that her children, daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 5, and son Cruz, 10, have been aware of her condition, sensing when she is in pain but perhaps not fully understanding the gravity of her diagnosis.
Friendship issues have not been limited to Beauvais. Mellencamp had previously called out her close friend and former co-star Dorit Kemsley for not contacting her post-diagnosis.
"I haven't f**king heard from Dorit," she remarked on March 20 during an episode of her "Two Ts In a Pod" podcast. However, after their mutual friend Erika Jayne intervened, Mellencamp and Kemsley reconnected, with Kemsley sending a supportive message that Mellencamp appreciated.
Thankfully, Mellencamp's best friend, Kyle Richards, has been an unwavering pillar of support. Richards has helped Mellencamp navigate medical emergencies, including aiding in her admission to the hospital for immediate care.
Mellencamp expressed her gratitude, praising Richards for being there "nonstop" and ensuring she received lifesaving treatment.
