AceShowbiz - Less than two weeks after launching her highly anticipated "Eusexua" tour in Paris, FKA Twigs has hit an unexpected roadblock. Her North American tour dates in Chicago, Toronto, and New York have been postponed.
The British musician, whose real name is Tahliah Barnett, took to social media to break the unfortunate news to her fans. In her TikTok video, she explained that her production team failed to submit the appropriate paperwork on time.
As a result, they couldn't secure the necessary visas for the US and Canadian dates. "Behind the scenes practically, it has been challenging with production and just the more practical sides of putting this tour together," she admitted.
The announcement affects her shows scheduled for March 26-27 in Chicago, March 30-31 in Toronto, and April 3-4 in New York City. She also addressed any confusion regarding Toronto, saying, "For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto because it's not part of the United States, it's because of routing and just the complex beast that touring is."
The "Eusexua" tour, promoting her third album released in January, was also plagued with problems in Europe. The tour kicked off with the cancellation of opening dates in Prague and Berlin due to "shipping issues."
FKA Twigs expressed her heartfelt disappointment over the postponements. }I don't take this lightly. I'm completely devastated, to be honest with you. Completely heartbroken. All I want to do is be there with you and bring 'Eusexua' to you," she said, adding that she is looking into "how and why this happened" and ensuring it does not recur.
Twigs remains committed to her fans, promising that information about rescheduled dates will be released soon. Her next performance is set for Mexico City on April 6, followed by the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and an additional date in San Francisco on April 19. No updates have been given as to whether these shows will be affected by the current visa issues.
Despite the setbacks, FKA Twigs continues to take pride in her work. As noted in a Rolling Stone review, her "metamorphosis on 'Eusexua' is fitting for Twigs, a natural shape-shifter who never quite does what's expected - this is the latest in a list of intriguing evolutions."
