AceShowbiz - Two months after losing her home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, "Scary Movie" actress Anna Faris opened up about the aftermath of the incident and how she and her son, 13-year-old Jack, are coping with the loss of their house.
In a recent interview with E! News, Anna revealed her remarkable fortitude, emphasizing gratitude amidst the tragedy, "We're one of thousands. And we feel really fortunate that we're safe and have a lot of support."
The fire not only obliterated their home but also several irreplaceable keepsakes from Anna's career. She reminisced about losing cherished items, such as shoes from her 2008 comedy "The House Bunny."
"It's funny with the stuff - not to go on about it, but I did have all of my shoes from the movie, and now they're gone," Anna shared. "But I know it's just stuff and memories. And thank goodness that it's out so I can look at them again somewhere."
Although material losses were substantial, the experience revealed strengths and qualities in Jack that have made Anna exceptionally proud. "When we lost our home in the fire, he's handled it so with so much strength and practicality," Anna said. "That also is confirmation to me that he's strong and he's even keeled."
Anna went on to highlight some of the profound moments that have strengthened her bond with Jack. She described feeling a "flood of emotional gratitude and confirmation" whenever he seeks her advice or confides his trust in her.
"I think, as parents, we're always questioning, you know, 'What are we doing? Are we giving good guidance? Are we raising kids with a good foundation?' " Anna continued. "Those indicators to me make me feel like I'm on the right path. And I'm really proud of him."
Anna Faris shares son Jack with ex-husband Chris Pratt. Both of them have since moved on - Pratt married to Katherine Schwarzenegger and has three children with her while Faris married to cinematographer Michael Barrett.
Other stars losing their homes in LA wildfires in January included Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Mandy Moore, Joshua Jackson, Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag, Leighton Meester & Adam Brody, Miles Teller & Keleigh Teller, Jeff Bridges, and Milo Ventimiglia.
Yet, through community and familial support, individuals like Anna and Jack exemplify the spirit of overcoming adversity.
