The legal drama involving Nicolas Cage's family continues as his son, Weston Cage, has responded to the serious allegations levelled against him by his mother, Christina Fulton.

AceShowbiz - The court case brought by Christina Fulton against her own son, Weston Cage, has taken several twists and turns over the past few months. Fulton, 57, filed a lawsuit against Weston, 34, in February, accusing Weston of assault and battery.

The lawsuit claims that an incident in Downtown Los Angeles left her with severe injuries that necessitated extensive medical treatment.

Weston Cage has since categorically denied all charges. His lawyer's defense hinges on the argument that any alleged damages were partly caused by Christina's own negligent actions.

The defense asserts, "That any and all events, happenings, injuries, loss, damage and expenditures referred to in the complaint were directly and proximately caused and contributed to by the statements, actions, carelessness and negligence of [Christina]."

Adding to the family strife, Fulton also accused her ex-husband, Nicolas Cage, of enabling their son's behavior. She claimed that Nicolas, aware of Weston's "long history of mental and psychological disorder," failed to prevent assaults and even enabled Weston's conduct by bailing him out of jail and allegedly drinking with him despite knowing his substance abuse issues.

On March 7, however, all claims against the actor were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be refiled. Weston's lawyer argued that Christina's motivations were financially driven, labeling the lawsuit "nothing short of a money grab and call for attention."

The lawyer also pointed to Christina's original identification of her son's behavior as a "mental health crisis" when she initially dismissed the altercation reports.

The saga is not over for Weston, who still faces multiple allegations, including assault, battery, and emotional distress. His next court hearing is scheduled for May 22.

This complicated family dispute sheds light on the intertwined issues of mental health, substance abuse, and familial obligations. Both sides present compelling arguments, painting a vivid picture of celebrities grappling with profoundly personal and deeply painful experiences within the public eye.
