AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian has always been in the spotlight, and her personal life is no exception. During the March 13 episode of Hulu's "The Kardashians", Kim, 44, took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on her past relationships and the rings that came with them.
"I wonder what my next ring shape will be - on my last and final hoorah," Kim mused to her sister Khloe Kardashian while reminiscing about her three engagement rings.
Kim first married producer Damon Thomas at the tender age of 19. "The first one [from Damon Thomas] was a cushion cut that was 14 carats," she recalled.
The couple, who had a 10-year age difference, were married for three years before parting ways in 2003. The buffering support from her family became evident when she mentioned how Khloe helped her financially during her tough times following the divorce.
The narrative then shifted to her whirlwind romance with NBA player Kris Humphries. Kim got engaged to Humphries in 2011, with an 18-karat emerald cut ring from Lorraine Schwartz. Despite the grandeur, their marriage lasted only 72 days.
Even more surprising is the story behind the impressive ring. "I didn't keep it. I was pregnant with North, still married to him and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in the divorce. The ring that I bought. He contributed a fifth [of the cost]," Kim revealed.
While the emerald cut ring is something she had to part with, Kim shared it was probably for the best. "But I would've loved a collection," she admitted, reflecting on the emotional toll of her split with Humphries. Schwartz, the jeweler, agreed that it was better she let go of the piece.
After her split with Humphries, Kim went on to marry rapper Kanye West, with whom she shares four children. Their marriage lasted almost seven years before Kim filed for divorce in February 2021, finalized in November 2022.
Reflecting on her journeys, Kim acknowledges her past mistakes and reveals she will be "definitely really cautious" about future relationships.
Kim's candid reflections offer a look into her life's highs and lows, illustrating how she has learned and grown from each relationship. As new episodes of "The Kardashians" continue to air every Thursday, fans stay enthralled by the star's ever-evolving life and the stories behind her iconic moments.
