In a track "9$IDE x Amethyst," Lanez, currently incarcerated for his involvement in the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion, raps about trying to reach out to the Australian rapper, whose real name is Amethyst.
"It be nights I want to talk to Iggy, but she blocked me," Lanez raps, revealing a deep yearning for reconciliation. He continues, "Amethyst, if you ever hear this s***, shorty, call me."
Throughout the album, Lanez reveals a realization of the depth of his feelings for Azalea. "Richest n***a in the prison, ain't no average / F*** a b**** and think I should have stayed with Amethyst," he laments.
Lanez's introspective journey continues in another track titled "Guide Me Through the Storm," where he expresses his gratitude for Azalea's support during his incarceration. "County jail crying real tears to Iggy Azalea," he raps.
Iggy Azalea did advocate for Lanez before his sentencing by writing a heartfelt letter to the judge, describing his respectful behavior towards women. She wrote, "I have never witnessed him [lose] his temper or raise his voice at a woman."
Furthermore, Azalea has shown support beyond words, taking it upon herself to hire several of Lanez's staff members during his time in prison. "I took it upon myself to hire six of his staff members, full time," she explained.
