The 37-year-old actor was charged with domestic assault and interference with an emergency call, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
According to TMZ, Deidrick was involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend at their Nashville home on Sunday morning. The dispute allegedly escalated when he suspected her of secretly recording him on her phone. Deidrick reportedly took the phone from her, which led to a physical confrontation.
Deidrick claimed that his girlfriend had wrapped her hands around his neck, but officers found no evidence to support this accusation. His girlfriend, who has not been identified, stated that Deidrick placed her in a "bear hug" from behind and forcibly seized her phone.
The woman demanded her phone back in order to call the police, fearing for her safety. Deidrick allegedly agreed to return her phone only after she promised to move out of their home that day.
Deidrick has made several television appearances, including roles in "Glee," "In the Dark," "Teen Wolf," and the Hallmark movie "Wedding Season." He starred as Chad DiMera in "Days of Our Lives" from 2009 to 2013.
