Angelina Jolie is reportedly devastated over her Oscars snub for her lead role in 'Maria,' with Hollywood insiders claiming she was being shunned by her peers in the industry.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie is reportedly "devastated" after failing to secure an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Maria Callas in the biopic, "Maria." A source close to the Academy told Page Six, "Look at all the press she did for the film - she wanted to get nominated."
The snub was attributed by some to her bitter divorce from fellow Oscar-winner Brad Pitt, which was finalized in December after eight years of legal battles. An insider claimed, "This just shows that Hollywood is Team Brad ... Nobody was going to go against Brad and give Angelina a vote ... people just love Brad."
However, Angelina Jolie still managed to get a nomination at the Golden Globes although she lost the title to Fernanda Torres. It was a stiff competition with Pamela Anderson, Nicole Kidman, Tilda Swinton, and Kate Winslet. Except for Torres, they were all snubbed by Oscars.
"Maria" only received one Oscar nomination, for Best Cinematography. Jolie learned to sing opera for her role in the movie. She also appeared on a late-night show for the first time in over a decade.
Jolie previously won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in "Girl, Interrupted" (2000) and received nomination for "Changeling" (2009).
