AceShowbiz - A massive fire, fueled by a fierce wind storm, has wreaked havoc in Los Angeles, forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents and disrupting the Los Angeles film scene.
The Pacific Palisades Fire has spread over 1,200 acres, threatening multiple homes and prompting a mandatory evacuation order in the area. Among those affected by the evacuation is Eugene Levy, the current Honorary Mayor of Pacific Palisades.
The blaze has also impacted Hollywood premieres. The premiere of Jennifer Lopez's latest film, "Unstoppable," was canceled due to safety concerns. The premiere of the horror movie "Wolf Man" was also canceled.
Actor Steve Guttenberg assisted fire crews by clearing cars from streets near the fire to allow emergency vehicles to pass through. Several celebrities who reside in the Pacific Palisades area, including James Woods, have reportedly evacuated their homes.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but experts attribute its strength to Santa Ana winds, low humidity, and critically dry fuels. The Los Angeles Fire Department has stated that multiple homes are under immediate threat.
Traffic congestion has been reported in the area as residents flee the blaze. Some have been forced to abandon their cars, leaving keys inside so that emergency vehicles can move them.
The fire has prompted the closure of a portion of Interstate 10 to facilitate evacuations. Firefighters from various agencies are battling the blaze, which has forced the postponement or cancellation of several Hollywood events.
