AceShowbiz - SZA's second studio album has made its return to the top of the Billboard 200 chart following the release of "Lana". The "Kill Bill" hitmaker's "SOS" spends its 11th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the tally.
In the chart dated January 4, the 35-year-old singer/songwriter's album jumps back to No. 1 from No. 15, thanks to the set's deluxe reissue on December 20. According to Billboard, "all versions of the album, old and new, are combined for tracking and charting purposes and continue to chart under the title SOS."
Billboard reports that the set, which was originally released in December 2022, earns 178,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending December 26, according to Luminate. The traditional album sales comprise 10,000, rising to 23 from 39 on Top Album Sales. The album's SEA units comprise 167,000 or equaling 220.22 million on-demand official streams of the set's songs. Meanwhile, TEA units comprise 1,000.
Similarly, Michael Buble's "Christmas" flies to No. 2 from No. 5 after earning 100,000 equivalent album units. Following "Christmas" is Bing Crosby's "Ultimate Christmas", which ascends to No. 3 from No. 6. It marks the late artist's highest-charting effort since 1959. Furthermore, Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" climbs to No. 4 from No. 11 as it earns 84,000 equivalent album units.
As for Kendrick Lamar's "GNX", the surprise album is pushed down to No. 5 from No. 2 with 76,000 equivalent album units earned. In contrast, Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas" moves up to No. 6 from No. 10 after earning nearly 76,000 equivalent album units. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" drops to No. 7 from No. 3 as it earns 74,000 equivalent album units.
In addition, the "Wicked" film soundtrack slightly dips to No. 8 from No. 7 with 71,000 equivalent album units earned. On the other hand, "A Christmas Gift for You From Phil Spector" jumps to No. 9 from No. 16 after earning 70,000 equivalent album units. Frank Sinatra's "Ultimate Christmas", which previously peaked at No. 12, reaches No. 10 in its 52nd week on the chart as it earns 63,000 equivalent album units.
