AceShowbiz - "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star Bronwyn Newport opened up about her mother's challenging health battle just before the holidays. Newport shared that doctors discovered a brain tumor in the back of her mother's skull, eerily reminiscent of a similar diagnosis nearly 30 years ago.

In her Instagram Stories on December 26, Newport, 39, revealed that she spent Christmas in the ICU assisting her mother. "I am so scared and worried, but my mom has helped so many over the years. And refused help for herself always. It is an honor to get to be the one who is here," Newport wrote.

The situation came amid Newport's father's own health issues. He has Alzheimer's and recently broke his pelvis, putting additional strain on Newport's mother. "After a few falls herself and a few doctor's visits that weren't productive, something clicked in my brain," Newport said, noting the familiar symptoms of dizziness and exhaustion that she recalled from her mother's previous tumor.

Newport flew straight to California to be by her mother's side in the hospital. "We received the bad news I was both expecting and not. I don't remember everything from when my mom was so sick when I was little but something also felt oddly familiar," she recalled.

Despite the severity of the situation, Newport remains hopeful. "We are so hopeful after a long recovery, she'll be her usual, feisty, and amazing self," she added.

Bronwyn Newport also utilized her social media platform to express her frustration regarding negative gossip surrounding her family. "The whispers of gossip about my family, and how we have handled trying to allow my mom her independence and letting her come to terms with needing and accepting help have gotten back to me," she said.

"Those who felt my choice to be on Bravo and or posting contractually obligated and pre-filmed things online while I was at the same time trying to quietly help my parents and not yet share about this all… and then talked behind my back or worse online about me is despicable. Especially those of you who have benefitted from my mother's kindness to you and your families over the years," she added.

Despite the hardships, Newport finds solace in small, joyful activities with her mother, like watching basketball games together. She also shared several practical tips for others in similar situations, stressing the importance of personalized comfort items in the hospital.

Newport's focus now remains on her mother's recovery and the support of her family. With her husband and daughter holding down the fort at home, Newport continues to embody the care and compassion that she learned from her mother, illuminating their strength and resilience during this difficult time.
