AceShowbiz - Bronwyn Newport, a recent addition to the cast of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" (RHOSLC), revealed her traumatic experience with a dog attack during a casual walk in a park.
During an interview with People Magazine, Newport recounted the harrowing ordeal. She was at a local park with her own dog when an unaccompanied dog approached her. "Sensing no aggression, she reached out to pat it, whereupon the dog circled and lunged at her from behind," the article detailed.
Newport described how the situation quickly spiraled out of control as the dog began to bite ferociously, leaving her panicked and screaming for help.
"I totally lost my mind, and I honestly think I made it worse," she told People, reflecting on her reaction during the attack. The situation only de-escalated when a bystander intervened, preventing more severe injuries.
Newport was rushed to the hospital, where medical staff discovered that one of the bites had fractured her bicep. In total, she sustained 37 separate bites on her arms and legs, marking a terrifying chapter in her life.
Following the attack, Newport learned that the dog was a foster dog, and its caretaker was out of sight during the incident. Despite the vicious attack, Newport chose not to press charges.
The incident has brought more attention to "RHOSLC," the tenth installment of the Real Housewives franchise, which has been airing on Bravo since November 2020 and is currently in its fifth season.
The show previously faced controversy when one of its original stars, Jen Shah, was arrested in 2021 for wire fraud and money laundering. Shah's involvement in a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly and vulnerable led to her pleading guilty to conspiracy in 2022 and receiving a 6.5-year prison sentence the following year.
Newport's experience serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities associated with pet ownership, especially concerning foster animals, and the importance of ensuring animals are under proper supervision.
