AceShowbiz - Khloe Kardashian's recent holiday season was anything but typical. The reality star, aged 40, shared through several Instagram Story updates that her 2-year-old son, Tatum, and 6-year-old daughter, True, were under the weather during the festive season. This unfortunate turn of events led her to miss her family's highly anticipated Christmas Eve event for the first time in years.
On December 26, Khloé detailed the health issues her kids faced during the holiday period. She revealed that her son Tatum was "super sick" the weekend before Christmas but managed to recover in time for Christmas Eve.
However, her daughter True wasn't as fortunate. "True had a 105-degree fever," the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum explained. "It was really scary. It was horrible. Now she's just starting to feel better."
The Kardashian-Jenner family's Christmas traditions are well-known for their star-studded and extravagant nature. This year, however, Khloé's family celebrated in a more "low-key" manner due to extensive construction happening at some of the family properties. Even amid these changes, the absence of Khloé and her kids was notably felt by the family.
Despite her daughter's high fever, Khloé attempted to keep the Christmas spirit alive for True. "She was sleeping in another room while I was cooking breakfast," Kardashian said. "We're doing Santa toys today because she just wasn't in the mood yesterday. Poor thing, that's when you know your kid is sick, when Santa toys don't even excite them."
The Kardashian-Jenner clan still managed to celebrate, albeit less extravagantly than in previous years. Kim Kardashian wore a striking snakeskin dress while sisters Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner donned elegant white gowns, keeping the festive spirit alive albeit in a more intimate setting. As Kim explained ahead of the event, "We're doing a really family intimate one that I'm really excited about."
Khloé managed to send some festive cheer despite the setbacks, including a gift to her sister Kim, a bedazzled scooter labeled "Merry Christmas Keeks! Love, Khloé, True, and Tatum."
As the reality star summed it up, "I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, because I wasn't really able to do so yesterday. Despite the circumstances, we had a great time."
