"ODISEA", produced under Ozuna's production company Bear with Oz Films, will be directed by Spanish filmmaker Alexis Morante, who won a Latin Grammy for directing the documentary "What I Was Is What I Am". The film's synopsis describes it as a "story of triumph" that will showcase Ozuna's resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges.
Ozuna spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the film's concept, stating that it aims to inspire young people to pursue their dreams relentlessly. "I am a living example that we all have the ability to overcome obstacles," he said.
Ozuna has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Latin music scene since signing with Sony Music Latin in 2017. He has accumulated 29 Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, including five No. 1 singles. He has also held the No. 1 spot on the Top Latin Albums chart for 46 weeks with "ODISEA".
The film was shot in the Dominican Republic, New York and Puerto Rico, where Ozuna grew up. It marks his sixth film role and features an all-star cast that includes Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Dania Ramirez, Ana Maria Estupinan and Jencarlos Canela.
The film's soundtrack will include Ozuna's biggest hits as well as original music composed specifically for the film. A release date for "ODISEA" has yet to be announced, but it is expected to hit theaters and streaming platforms in the near future.
