AceShowbiz - PETA has weighed in on Kim Kardashian's recent Instagram post. Interestingly, the animal rights praised the reality TV star/actress for wearing a faux-fur bikini in one of her photos to promote a new line for her brand SKIMS.
In the said snap, Kim could be seen posing while rocking an outfit that she paired with cream thigh-high boots. Another photo, meanwhile, saw "The Kardashians" star sitting on what looked like a furry sofa.
For the photo shoot, Kim traded her raven locks to blonde ones. The 44-year-old wore her hair down with loose wave styles to add glamor to her look.
Upon catching wind of Kim's new collection, PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange offered the fashion mogul glowing praise. "Teeny faux fur bikini, big win for animals!" she told The U.S. Sun. "PETA is celebrating Kim K's evolution away from using fur from animals who are kept in filthy cages, gassed, and electrocuted, and we encourage other designers to follow suit by creating luxe fashion without cruelty."
The compliment served as a stark contrast in the history of Kim's relationship with the non-profit organization. Back in 2022, PETA criticized Kim and her famed family for selling their used rare-skinned clothing and handbags, on their website Kardashians Kloset. The organization urged the Kardashian-Jenner clan "to donate them to us for use in educational displays and to distribute to unhoused people, refugees, and others in tremendous need."
Kim was even "flour bombed" by a woman while attending a red carpet event in 2012 because of her fur use at the time. "If she presses charges, at least people will be constantly reminded of her selfish, callous disregard for the cruel deaths that she causes by wearing fur," PETA told TMZ.
It added, "How much better it would be if she decided to evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless. The activist acted from the heart, something Kim doesn't seem to have. If anything, Kim should get a life, the very thing that she denies animals."
