AceShowbiz - Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who portrayed Emma Drake on "General Hospital" for 13 years, announced her departure from the soap opera on X (formerly Twitter). In a heartfelt statement, she expressed gratitude for her time on the show and the memories she made.
"To my amazing General Hospital family who have supported me and watched me grow up over the years as Emma I am forever grateful," Silzer wrote. "Although sad my time as Emma has come to an end I will cherish all of my memories and friendships made."
Silzer, who joined "General Hospital" as a 5-year-old in 2011, portrayed the daughter of Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson). She later left the show in 2016 but returned as a guest star in 2020 and 2023.
Braedyn Bruner has taken over the role of Emma, making her debut on Monday, December 23. Silzer expressed excitement about Bruner's portrayal and wished her well. "I am so excited to see how Braedyn takes care of Emma and bring new layers to her character," she said.
Silzer's departure marks the latest in a series of casting shakeups on "General Hospital." Michael Easton, who played Silas Clay and Hamilton Finn, left the show in June after 944 episodes while Kelly Monaco, who played Sam McCall for 21 years, departed in October. Chad Duell, who portrayed Michael Corinthos, also announced his exit in November after 14 years.
Despite these recent departures, "General Hospital" remains a daytime television staple, airing weekdays on ABC.
