AceShowbiz - Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage and his Leading By Example Foundation hosted their sixth annual holiday toy drive, providing over 3,000 gifts to local families and children, and receiving recognition for his social impact.
On December 21, Metro Atlanta honored 21 Savage with four proclamations and two community action awards at his Leading By Example Foundation's annual Holiday Toy Drive. The event was held at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center in Panthersville and distributed over 3,000 toys, clothes, bicycles, and meals to over 1,000 families and children.
The awards recognized 21 Savage's dedication to giving back in DeKalb County. U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson and his wife, DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson, presented the rapper with a declaration of December 21 as "21 Savage Leading By Example Day" to celebrate his ongoing contributions to the community.
21 Savage launched the Leading By Example Foundation in 2018 to provide financial literacy, scholarships, bank account access, and job placement to teens and students. He has also spoken publicly on the importance of financial literacy and launched an online financial literacy program in 2020.
The foundation's annual toy drive has become a beacon of goodwill, fostering the connection between music, activism, and community support. This year's event underscores 21 Savage's commitment to his hometown, where he has grown up and strives to make a lasting impact.
