In a fiery post on X Sunday morning, December 22, Bezos addressed a misleading report that he and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez were set to marry in a lavish multimillion-dollar wedding at Kevin Costner's 160-acre ranch in Aspen, Colorado. "This whole thing is completely false - none of this is happening," Bezos wrote.

The speculative article, first published by Daily Mail, quickly gained traction, claiming the pair's wedding was planned for December 28. It reported an elaborate event filled with celebrations, a mountain-top ceremony, and luxury accommodations for guests, including private mansions and a pre-wedding celebration at the ritzy sushi restaurant Matsuhisa in Aspen.

Jeff Bezos didn't mince words in his rebuttal, stating, "The old adage 'don't believe everything you read' is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don't be gullible."

The report also included input from a "well-placed source" who allegedly confirmed the exorbitant cost and opulent arrangements. However, another financial titan, Bill Ackman, was quick to point out the absurdity of such a lavish affair. "This is not credible," Ackman wrote. "Unless you are buying each of your guests a house, you can't spend this much money."

Despite the rumor mill churning, it appears that no such wedding is in the works for Bezos and Sánchez, who got engaged in May 2023 after nearly five years of dating. The couple has kept their romance relatively private, especially following their respective divorces in 2019.
