AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift has made an edit to her newly-released video after fans caught a trace of her doomed relationship with Joe Alwyn. The singer has blurred her picture with the actor in the behind-the-scenes video of her "Bejeweled" music video.
The 35-year-old uploaded the video to YouTube on December 13, two years after the music video came out in October 2022. In the BTS clip, as the pop star directs one of the actors on the set, she's holding her phone in her phone. When she gestures, her phone screen lights up and her wallpaper is revealed.
At the time of filming, which occurred months before she broke up with the British actor, Taylor used a picture of her and her-then boyfriend sitting and cuddling as the phone background. In the image, she leaned her head on Joe's shoulder and her arms wrapped around his chest as he held onto her legs.
While Taylor has since moved on and is happily dating Travis Kelce now, fans who noticed the image couldn't help reminiscing the breakup. "Seeing the wallpaper with Joe Alwyn always make me sobbing still," one fan commented on the YouTube video. Another posted alongside a screenshot of the moment, "My beloved ghost and me sitting in a tree," making a reference to Taylor's" Tortured Poets Department" lyrics.
Hours after fans were buzzing over the callback to Taylor's past romance, the behind-the-scenes video has apparently been edited. Her phone screen is now blurred, leaving no trace of her moment with the "Mary Queen of Scots" star.
Taylor and Joe's breakup was reported in April 2023, after they were dating for six years. Fans have noted that the Grammy winner's latest studio album features a lot of reference to her time with the actor, including the song "So Long, London".
"You swore that you loved me but where were the clues," she sings on the track. "I died on the altar waiting for the proof/ You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days/ And I'm just getting color back into my face/ I'm just mad as hell cause I loved this place."
For his part, Joe addressed the split in an interview published in June of this year. "I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years," he told The Sunday Times of navigating a relationship in the public eye. "That is a hard thing to navigate."
The 33-year-old added of dating one of the most popular artists in the world, "What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it's suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in."
