AceShowbiz - Donald Trump Jr. is seemingly making sure there's no lingering feeling between him and his rumored ex Kimberly Guilfoyle following their alleged split. The eldest son of Donald Trump and his alleged new girlfriend Bettina Anderson reportedly want Kimberly out of the picture as they move on from the broken engagement.
"Bettina wants Kim out of the area," a political source tells PEOPLE. According to the so-called insider, the President-elect's latest move to nominate Guilfoyle as the U.S. ambassador to Greece is part of a plan to nudge her "out of the area."
"They are trying to send Kim abroad," the insider adds. "They waited for the election to pass but they didn’t want the split to get in the way of anything to hurt Donald in the election."
Another source tells Us Weekly that "Don and Kimberly broke up before the election and started to divide assets around the end of September." The pair, however, "never discussed" their breakup publicly so as not to "detract from" other "important issues."
The source reveals Don was the one who pulled the plug on the engagement, noting that "the breakup was amicable and so is their relationship today." The source explains, "They just had different goals."
Don and Kim's breakup rumors started to swirl after he was photographed with Bettina. They were seen holding hands in public after reportedly spending two hours inside Buccan, a swanky Palm Beach restaurant.
"Bettina and Don have been together for a few months, and are super cute and happy together. It's just a natural fit - everyone is happy for them!" a source told Page Six after their pictures surfaced online on Tuesday, December 10.
As to why the former couple split, a source claimed, "Don and Kimberly haven't been getting along over the past year." The source added, "They get argumentative at Mar-a-Lago in front of people. Nothing crazy, but you know when a couple is fighting. They bicker in public."
