AceShowbiz - Chad Michael Murray, the actor who rose to fame with roles in "One Tree Hill", "A Cinderella Story" and "Freaky Friday", has shared his experience of facing the challenges of early stardom. In a conversation with Interview, Murray revealed that there was a time when he considered leaving the acting industry.
After leaving "One Tree Hill" in 2009, Murray struggled with the pressures and scrutiny that came with fame. He said, "I was quitting. I was done. I just couldn't do it anymore." He explained that navigating the complexities of life and decision-making during his formative years, between the ages of 18 and 25, was overwhelming.
Murray highlighted the difficulties of handling negative attention and the unrealistic expectations that can accompany being a public figure. He stated, "I made a big pivot at that point in my life and said, 'You know what? This is not what I want.' "
Despite his earlier struggles, Murray has since reassessed his career and found a renewed passion for acting. He said, "I didn't understand the power that the industry can have, the respect that you must give it and give everyone and every moment."
Currently, Murray is excited about his upcoming projects, including the Netflix films "Mother of the Bride" and "The Merry Gentlemen". He is also set to reprise his role as Jake in the "Freaky Friday" sequel, "Freakier Friday", alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
Despite having a successful career, Murray remains humble and focused on his family. He said, "I love being an actor, but at the end of the day, the real grassroots thing for me was being a family man."
Murray's journey serves as a reminder that even in the face of challenges, it is possible to reassess, find new directions, and continue to pursue one's passions.
