AceShowbiz - Reality star Mama June Shannon and her family have been coping with the loss of their beloved eldest daughter Anna Cardwell, who died a year ago after a 10-month battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
Shannon has revealed that she takes Cardwell's ashes with her wherever she goes, including on family road trips. "For me, personally, taking her urn everywhere with us, and I'm talking about the whole urn," she said.
The family also wears jewelry containing Cardwell's ashes and keeps her on Pumpkin's Bluetooth car radio. "We just want people to remember Anna," Shannon said.
Shannon also noted that Cardwell adored being in the spotlight. "She loved being on reality TV because if it was up to her, we would've streamed her funeral," she said. However, the family declined that request.
Shannon emphasizes the importance of keeping Cardwell's memory alive both for her family and for fans. "This is that little stuff. Keeping the group chat, keeping her on Pumpkin's [Bluetooth car] radio, stuff like that," she added.
On road trips, the family will leave the urn in the car at parking lots rather than risk flying with it. Shannon also shared that they brought Cardwell with them on their recent Disney parks vacation.
"We drove to Colorado, she went to Alabama, she's going to South Carolina this weekend," Shannon said. "So just keeping that part like, 'Okay, Anna's in the car.' "
While the family finds comfort in these gestures, they also acknowledge that Cardwell had an infectious and loving personality that keeps her present in their hearts. "Anna loved, loved being in the spotlight," Shannon said. "She did not give a f**k what it was, being on TikTok or anything else, she loved being in the spotlight."
Through their efforts to keep Anna's memory alive, Mama June Shannon and her family are coping with their grief and celebrating the life of the beloved daughter and sister they hold dear.
