AceShowbiz - Adam22 expressed his opinion on the similarities between Kendrick Lamar's fans and Donald Trump's supporters during the latest episode of "The Adam22 & Wack100 Show". He suggested that both groups are prone to defending their idols, even in the face of questionable actions.
"Donald Trump's fanbase is kind of like a cult because no matter what Donald Trump does, they never find fault with it," Adam said. "He could do things that, were they done by the Democrats, everybody would be able to agree that they're wrong."
Adam22 went on to draw parallels to Lamar's fans, who have defended the rapper despite allegations that his record label used bots and payola to boost the success of his music. "Now we have Kendrick's super fans, who are telling us that, 'actually, buying plays and payola is totally fine,' " he said.
The comparison has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users agreed with Adam22, while others countered that Lamar's fans are simply devoted to his music and have no connection to Trump's supporters.
The controversy stems from Drake's recent legal filing, in which he accused Universal Music Group (UMG) of using bots and payola to manipulate the success of Kendrick Lamar's song "Not Like Us". UMG denied the allegations as "offensive and untrue."
Despite the controversy, Lamar's new album, "GNX", debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Songs from the project also hold the top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
