AceShowbiz - Jelly Roll, known for his hit single "Son of a Sinner", recently visited the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center in Houston, Texas, where he shared some laughter, motivation and even a friendly game of basketball with the detainees.
"I don't know you, but I love you. When I was in a place like this, nobody told me that," Jelly Roll said in a video he shared on Instagram. "I know how far a slice of pizza can go in this place."
Jelly Roll brought pizza for the detainees, a gesture that he knows has a significant impact within the facility. While he initially felt confident about his basketball skills, the detainees quickly proved to be formidable opponents.
"They whooped our a**es," Jelly Roll admitted with a laugh. "They have plays. They're trying to win." However, beyond the fun and games, Jelly Roll also used the platform to share some meaningful words of advice.
"What I've learned for sure, whatever you love, do it as much as you can. It's the law of work. I've never seen it not work for anybody. If you do it like you love it for hard enough for long enough, it will inevitably play out," he said.
Jelly Roll's visit and message resonated deeply with the detainees, offering them not only a moment of respite but also a spark of hope and inspiration.
