According to an insider, the decision to separate was not an easy one for Simpson. The couple has three children together and is reportedly "trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids' lives as much as possible." However, sources indicate that they are "still figuring things out."
Rumors of the split surfaced after Simpson was spotted without her wedding band in recent social media posts. Simpson's cryptic post on Instagram, in which she wrote about "putting up with everything [she] did not deserve," has also raised eyebrows. Johnson fueled the rumors by ditching his wedding ring as well while out and about in Los Angeles recently.
A source exclusively told Page Six that Simpson and Johnson no longer attend their children's school events together. "As you can imagine, there's been a lot of gossip among the parents," the insider said. Simpson has also reportedly contacted divorce lawyers.
Simpson and Johnson tied the knot in July 2014. They share three children: Maxwell, 12; Ace, 11; and Birdie, 5. Simpson was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006.
