AceShowbiz - FOX has announced the star-studded cast for the third season of "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test", which returns as a special five-week event starting January 8, 2025 at 8 P.M. ET. The show will see 16 celebrity recruits, including Denise Richards, Stephen Baldwin and Cam Newton, taking on the actual challenges of the Special Forces selection process in Wales, the birthplace of British Special Forces Selection.
Under the guidance of elite ex-special forces operatives Rudy Reyes, Mark "Billy" Billingham, Jason "Foxy" Fox, and Jovon "Q" Quarles, the recruits will face harrowing ocean warfare tests and rigorous land challenges designed to push them to their limits. The show's unique format includes "no votes and no eliminations," emphasizing pure survival as the only way out.
Among the notable names joining this season are Olympic swimming gold medalist Nathan Adrian, pro-surfer Alana Blanchard, pro soccer player Landon Donovan and motocross champion Carey Hart. They are joined by TV personality Brody Jenner, Olympic track and field athlete Marion Jones, former "The Bachelorette" stars Trista Sutter and Ali Manno and more.
The show's press release highlights some of the extreme challenges to come, such as a high-pressure hostage rescue, a perilous ladder crossing nearly 100 feet above the sea, a boat dunk drill involving a plunge into frigid waters, and surf immersion exercises that flirt with the edges of drowning. The underlying principle is simple: "no guts, no glory" - and definitely no glam.
The show's teaser offers a glimpse into the intensity awaiting the recruits. Denise Richards confesses, "I've been in situations where I freeze," while Trista Sutter admits, "The devil on my shoulder is going, 'You can't do this.'" Each celebrity must face these inner and outer demons to find strength and resilience.
Newton, reflecting on the growth these challenges foster, states, "In order to get something that you've never had, you've got to do something that you've never done." Nathan Adrian echoes this sentiment, preparing for the discomfort ahead, while a voiceover in the trailer reminds viewers that the series is "about taking that leap of faith."
Produced by Minnow Films, with Becky Clarke, Liam Humphreys, and Alicia Kerr as executive producers, "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" aims to unveil the deepest and truest character of its celebrity recruits. As the opening date approaches, fans eagerly anticipate seeing these stars shine under pressure in one of the toughest tests of their lives.
Don't miss the premiere on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 with a two-hour episode packed with action, emotion, and sheer determination. Stay tuned for an unforgettable season of endurance and transformation.
