AceShowbiz - NBA superstar LeBron James has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in the upcoming 2024 election. In an Instagram post, James shared a video featuring a montage of racist jokes made by former President Donald Trump, interspersed with clips of civil rights protests.
James captioned the post with, "What are we even talking about here? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me." He added, "VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!"
This is not the first time James has spoken out against racism. In 2018, he criticized Trump for his "racist comments" and said that the former president "really don't give a f**k about the people."
In response to the racial turmoil following the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, James formed the group More Than a Vote in 2020. The group worked with a nonpartisan voting rights group to fight voter suppression.
James' endorsement of Harris comes as no surprise, as he previously supported the Biden-Harris ticket in the 2020 election. Other high-profile NBA figures such as Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr have also endorsed Harris.
The endorsement of James, along with other sports stars, is a significant boost for Harris' campaign. However, former President Trump has also garnered support from the sports world, including endorsements from Harrison Butker and Brett Favre.
