AceShowbiz - Stevie Nicks, the "Edge of Seventeen" icon, has been using her platform to encourage political activism and voting among her fans. In a recent interview, she opened up about regretting not voting until she was 70 years old.

In an interview with MSNBC, the 76-year-old Nicks candidly shared that she had never voted prior to turning 70. "I regret that, and I've told everybody that onstage for the last two years," she said. "I regret that and I don't have very many regrets."

Nicks explained that despite various excuses, people should prioritize voting. "In the long run, you didn't have an hour? You didn't have an hour of your time that you could have gone and voted?" she emphasized.

Nicks also discussed the inspiration behind her recently released song, "The Lighthouse," which is inspired by the fight for abortion access following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. She believes that musicians should use their voices to advocate for causes. "In the end of the 50s and 60s and into the 70s, everyone was writing protest songs," she said. "I would say to all my musical poets that write songs to write some songs about what's happening like I did."

Nicks urged others with large platforms to amplify the importance of voting. "The government, whatever, we have to figure out a way to bring back Roe v. Wade," she stated. "We all had to pick causes."
