AceShowbiz - Fans couldn't help but notice Kim Kardashian's birthday wish for Caitlyn Jenner was less than warm on Tuesday, October 29. "The Kardashians" star took to Instagram where she commemorated the former Olympian's big day with a single picture showing the pair together which she accompanied with a brief caption. "Happy 75th Birthday. I love you," the SKIMS founder wrote next to the photo.
Jenner responded to the post, telling Kardashian, "Love you so much. Thank you for everything." However, some of her fans were quick to point out that Kardashian's message didn't seem to carry her typical warmth that she normally uses in some of her other birthday posts. "The short and sweet caption with exactly one picture I'm dying," a social media user wrote. Another added, "It looks so forced. Kimmy baby we know u didn't wanna make this post."
Kardashian's birthday post to Jenner also stirred comments that it appeared "exhausted" and reminiscent of an obligatory gesture rather than a heartfelt wish. This skepticism arises amidst a backdrop of tension, revealed through Caitlyn's comments in the "House of Kardashian" docuseries where she described her former stepdaughter as "calculated." Kim, in turn, has publicly stated that such remarks don't affect her given the familial love and respect she holds for Jenner.
Despite the perceived coolness on social media, Kim showed up for Jenner's birthday festivities, which included a special dinner in Malibu. Sharing joyous moments on Instagram, Caitlyn expressed her gratitude, "Family is everything! So many kids and so many of the grandkids, all in one place, at one time. You all made my birthday evening so special... and your beyond thoughtful and generous gifts made the night all the more fun (WOW!)."
The gathering saw participation from several family members, including Brody Jenner with his fiancee Tia Blanco and their young daughter Honey. Kim Kardashian also attended, posing for selfies with Caitlyn, among other joyous family moments.
However, some notable family absences were also felt. Kylie Jenner was away in New York for the CFDA Awards and Kris Jenner, Caitlyn's ex-wife, did not attend the bash. Caitlyn has previously remarked on the strained relationship with Kris, pointing out that they "never talk anymore."
