Back in 2009, Ruby, then an MTV Australia VJ, interviewed John Mayer about his fourth studio album, "Battle Studies", for Australia's talk show "The 7pm Project". The interview turned heads, not just because of Mayer's new album, but due to his interaction with Ruby. The "Gravity" singer appeared to be deeply engaged, even placing his hand on Ruby's while telling a story and gazing into her eyes.
