AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake allegedly has a specific reason for joining NSYNC reunion. It has been reported that the "Can't Stop the Feeling!" hitmaker wants to use the band's comeback tour to "rehabilitate his damaged reputation."
On Sunday, October 13, a source revealed the reason why the 43-year-old agreed to join his four bandmates, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and JC Chasez, at the upcoming shows. Speaking to In Touch, the source spilled, "Now is the time to give the people what they want and remind everyone why they fell in love with Justin in the first place."
The informant went on to tell the media outlet, "Fans are eager for a blast from the past." Seemingly referring to the singer pleading guilty in DWI case, the informant explained, "Justin's team is hoping nostalgia will distract from his recent troubles and shine a light on his talent as an entertainer!"
The revelation came after it was reported that Justin is coming along for the boy band's "major reunion" following his radio silence that allegedly disappointed his bandmates. On October 3, some insiders confirmed to The U.S. Sun that all five singers of the band are "closer than ever" to "a full-scale return."
One of them stated, "The guys have always known that a major reunion should happen, but with them all heading toward 50 the timing is important - especially if a performance is involved." The insider elaborated, "There are lots of proposals on the table but one major idea is that they put together a docuseries about their journey."
"All of them would come together and talk about their experiences in the band," the insider continued. "The success of the David Beckham documentary showed what can be created by revisiting 90s pop culture history."
The insider additionally shared about NSYNC's new music, "They have written some musical ideas and been offered tracks for a new single which could expand into a new album or expanded greatest hits. Certainly there is much love from the fanbase to spark interest in their music having a big comeback for a new generation."
