AceShowbiz - Julia Fox, best known for her role in "Uncut Gems," recently shared her feelings about her brief, yet highly publicized relationship with Kanye West, also known as Ye. In a heartfelt interview, the 34-year-old actress revealed, "I regret that relationship so much. I hate it! It was only a few weeks but enough to last me a lifetime."
Fox recalled how uneasy the relationship made her feel, stating, "I was in probably the most uncomfortable position in my life and that's saying a lot. I don't want to be known for being anyone's girlfriend."
The relationship, which began on New Year's Eve in 2021 and ended by February 2022, was marked by public attention that Fox did not welcome. She explained, "It wasn't my idea for it to go public. If anything, I was like, 'We should wait,' and then boom, it was done behind my back. I realized pretty quickly I was being used as a pawn."
Fox's latest reflections reiterate sentiments she expressed in her memoir, "Down the Drain," where she mentioned that "the artist" - a term she uses to describe West - had offered to get her a "boob job," asked her to sign an NDA, and had his stylists outfit her in clothes he approved of. Her refusal to sign the NDA marked a boundary she was unwilling to cross despite the pressures she faced.
Post-breakup, Fox spoke about how her son Valentino, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, kept her grounded. "I really credit my son for being my grounding force," she said. "It was like, I can't go down this spiral because no man, no matter how rich or famous, is worth one minute away from my child."
West, who has since changed his name to Ye, is not without controversies of his own. Following his split from Fox, he began dating Bianca Censori, whom he married in December 2022. However, their relationship may be on shaky ground amidst a recent lawsuit.
According to legal documents obtained by Rolling Stone, one of West's former employees sued him, alleging that he was hired to spy on his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and her family, as well as Censori while she was abroad.
Another former employee sued Kanye for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulted her during a studio session co-hosted by P. Diddy. The assault reportedly happened when he was married and his wife, who's not named in the lawsuit, suspected his infidelity. The woman, who used to work as his assistant, also alleged harassment and wrongful termination.
The lawsuit made Kanye the first celebrity sued in connection to Diddy amid the Bad Boy Records mogul's damning scandal and arrest.
Despite the turmoil, Fox maintains a focus on her career and her son, steering clear of the drama that once ensnared her. Her experience serves as a reminder of the challenges and unintended consequences that can come with dating high-profile celebrities.
