A source tells PEOPLE that the "Real Time with Bill Maher" host and the ex-girlfriend of Al Pacino have gone on several dates, but notes that their relationship is still early days. Another insider insists that the two are just "friends," at least for now.

Maher and Alfallah raised people's eyebrows following their sighting at Chateau Marmont Hotel over the weekend. The two were seen making a hush-hush exit from the upscale hotel on late Saturday night, October 5.

The comedian was seen behind the wheel of his high-end black sedan, donning a gray suit. Meanwhile, Alfallah, dressed in a black outfit with minimal makeup, sat beside him. Despite the paparazzi frenzy, both appeared at ease.

The late-night outing came just hours after Alfallah was spotted leaving Chez Mia restaurant in West Hollywood with her former boyfriend Al Pacino. The 84-year-old actor and Alfallah, who share a son, Roman, born in June 2023, were romantically linked since April 2022.

Before speculation ran rampant about the status of his relationship with Alfallah, Al Pacino confirmed their split. In an interview with PEOPLE, the Oscar-winning actor revealed that he's currently single, stating, "No. I have friendship."

His rep echoed this sentiment, noting that the renowned actor and Alfallah remain "very good friends" and are co-parents to their 1-year-old son Roman.

Earlier this year, Alfallah filed for full physical custody of Roman although the couple shares joint legal custody and Pacino contributes over $30,000 per month in child support. Alfallah has candidly expressed her views on marriage, stating she is "not the marrying type," a sentiment echoed by Pacino, who has never been married but has other children from previous relationships.
