AceShowbiz - FINNEAS has released his sophomore album, "For Cryin' Out Loud", which arrived on October 4. The project follows his Grammy-winning debut album titled "Optimist" released in 2021.
Unlike his previous record, "For Cryin' Out Loud" features a more collaborative and dynamic sound. Recorded live in Los Angeles with friends and peers, the album radiates the energy and spontaneity of a full band. FINNEAS relinquished some control in the studio, embracing the chemistry of his collaborators to shape a more uplifting and expansive sound.
The album's title track, "Cleats" and "Lotus Eater" served as the lead singles. In an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, FINNEAS explained his approach to the record, stating that he wanted to "sit across the table from people and talk right to them" without being preachy.
FINNEAS' songwriting prowess shines on "For Cryin' Out Loud". His keen understanding of pop song structure is evident alongside modern touches, and his lyrics channel strong sentiments through fleeting imagery. The album's emotional peak is "Family Feud", a moving reflection on the unbreakable bond he shares with his sister, Billie Eilish.
Beyond his own work, FINNEAS has produced all three of Billie Eilish's albums, solidifying his status as a sought-after producer. He has also collaborated with Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Kid Cudi, among others.
With "For Cryin' Out Loud," FINNEAS continues to evolve as an artist. He pushes the boundaries of his musicality, showcasing his versatility and passion for creating meaningful and relatable music.
