Frank Grillo is set to portray his 'Creature Commandos' character Rick Flag Sr. in numerous DC Universe projects, appearing in both animated and live-action formats.

AceShowbiz - Frank Grillo will play a pivotal role in the interconnected DC Universe. As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios slate, Grillo will reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr. in the animated series "Creature Commandos."
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn confirmed Grillo's multiple appearances as Rick Flag, stating, "We get to see this character from different angles, and he is not simple." Grillo will also portray the character in season 2 of "Peacemaker" and the upcoming live-action "Superman" movie.
According to Gunn, Grillo's portrayal of Rick Flag will showcase a multifaceted character, "This isn't just a good guy, not at all. We see all different sides of his character. He is morally a complex human being."
In "Creature Commandos", Grillo leads a team of incarcerated monsters on perilous missions. Joining the cast are Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Zoe Chao, Sean Gunn, David Harbour, Alan Tudyk, Indira Varma, and Viola Davis. The series is written and executive produced by James Gunn.
Grillo's involvement in multiple DCU projects demonstrates the studio's commitment to consistent character portrayals across different mediums. Gunn emphasizes, "The actors have to be able to work within different genres, and that's something Frank's really been good at."
With Grillo embodying Rick Flag in "Creature Commandos," "Peacemaker," and "Superman," fans will witness the character's evolution through a variety of narratives and formats.
