AceShowbiz - Drake, a name synonymous with modern hip-hop, is forever tied to his October's Very Own (OVO) persona. Yet, the aftermath of his viral tiff with his nemesis Kendrick Lamar lingers.
Companies like Fashion Nova are cashing in on this controversy. The company's latest Halloween costume, the "BBL Booty Butt Pad Costume Accessory," takes a jab at the "Champagne Papi." Showcased with a model donning a black hoodie emblazoned with "Papi" and multi-color hair clips, it's a clear nod to Drake's appearance in his "8AM In Charlotte" music video.
While not naming Drake outright, the costume's insinuations are unmistakable. The alleged cosmetic procedure of Drake's, a focal mock point by Kendrick Lamar and Rick Ross, further fuels this narrative. Ross ignited the flames in his track "Champagne Moments", while Lamar's "Euphoria" added more fuel with its lyrical punchlines. Even Metro Boomin transformed the meme into a viral beat, sparking the "BBL Drizzy" challenge among aspiring artists.
Recently, Drake was accused of blocking K.Dot from performing "Not Like Us", a diss track against the Canadian hip-hop artist, at the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show. Wack 100 revealed that Drizzy sent K.Dot a cease and desist. However, the claim was later debunked. It has been reported that the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker has no plans to do so.
