AceShowbiz - Former "The Bachelor" star Colton Underwood and his husband, Jordan C. Brown, have become parents for the first time. They welcomed their son, Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood, on Thursday, September 26.
On Monday, September 30, Underwood, 32, announced the happy news on Instagram, sharing several photos of their newborn baby boy. "Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood [love] September 26th, 2024," Underwood wrote in his caption.
One photo showed Underwood and Brown holding baby Bishop in a carrier as they posed together as a family of three for the first time. Other black-and-white snaps show Bishop sleeping soundly and clinging to his dad's finger.
Underwood and Brown announced in May that they were expecting their first baby via surrogate. The couple has been together for almost three years and celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 13.
"That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads," said Underwood.
In February, Underwood opened up about his path to fatherhood, announcing that he was documenting his journey on a new podcast, "Daddyhood." The couple began their IVF and surrogacy journey two years ago, right around the time they started planning their wedding.
"Our doctor actually let our surrogate tell us, which I thought was so special. She got to text us and share the exciting news," Underwood said. "We're so fortunate and lucky to have her."
After finding out that they were going to be parents, Underwood said he and Brown took the first two days just to absorb the news. "Everybody's been so excited. My family especially knows how long I've wanted to be a dad," he admitted. "So for me to be able to say we're pregnant is really big and really emotional."
