Colton Underwood and his spouse Jordan C. Brown are about to embark on an incredible adventure as they prepare to welcome their first child via surrogacy.

AceShowbiz - Colton Underwood, the former "Bachelor" star, and his husband, political strategist Jordan C. Brown, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their baby boy in early October. The couple, who recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, have openly shared their excitement and the hurdles they've overcome on their path to parenthood.

In a candid interview, Underwood, 32, discussed the couple's journey to fatherhood and the significant role IVF and surrogacy played. "That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads," he said. Their decision to keep their surrogate's identity private underscores their desire to maintain some semblance of normalcy in their public lives.

Underwood also opened up about his fertility struggles, noting, "Straight couples too, need to stop putting the blame on the women. I've had some fertility issues and struggles, and I don't think a lot of men openly talk about that." He discovered a low sperm count due to excessive exercise and sauna use but managed to reverse some damage through "sperm rehab."

The couple's journey involved significant emotional and financial investment, totalling around $350,000 for the IVF and surrogacy process. Notably, they had three embryos fertilized and have since developed a strong bond with their surrogate and her family.

Their child is already a source of joy, even before birth, as Underwood shared, "Just bonding with my child, holding him, feeding him, changing him, wrapping him... and being able to watch Jordan hold and feed him is what I'm looking forward to."

They've also decided on several potential names for their son, waiting to meet him to make the final choice. Underwood couldn't hide his eagerness, revealing he's already bought items with their top-choice name, though Brown has humorously called their unborn baby "Baby B" for now.

Reflecting on their relationship, Underwood shared how meeting Brown in April 2021 and their eventual engagement in February 2022 felt "very natural and organic." He expressed how his dreams of having a family have evolved since coming out in April 2021. "I want kids, I want dogs, I want the whole nine yards," he said with optimism.

For the forthcoming parents, the journey to fatherhood has been filled with emotional and logistical challenges, but it's evident that the love and commitment they share will greatly enrich the life of their soon-to-arrive son.
